October 2010 Customs Broker Exam - Preliminary Answers

Determining potential answers for the broker's exam questions after the test is different in a few key ways from taking the test, but none is more key than the fact that we have more than four hours. That means that we can take the time to research as much as we need to in order to get the most accurate (though still unofficial) document possible to all of you. Our first attempt may have some mistakes, but they will be corrected as new updates are posted. With that said, we're not finished yet -- BUT we do have most of them completed.

Click here for the preliminary unofficial exam answers.

As always, remember that these answers represent only our opinion. The official answers will come from Customs and Border Protection in a few weeks and will be posted on their site. In other words, we probably answered the majority of the questions correctly, but these answers do not guarantee whether or not you've passed; it merely is presented as a helpful tool for broker students who are (quite understandably) eager to have any idea of where they stand.

If you would like to share your answers, explanations and comments, we invite you to post them as comments to this blog; however, we ask that comments be professional and to the point. We cannot respond to all of the comments, but this forum will provide you an opportunity to converse with each other. Remember, we do not have the official answers. You’ll have plenty of time to argue with CBP if you disagree with their answers.

Happy browsing!

P.S. We cannot post the questions because the copy we received had a lot of markings on it.

October 2009 Customs Broker Exam - PARTIAL Answers

Making the blog answer sheet for the broker's exam is different in a few key ways from taking the test, but none is more key than the fact that we have more than four hours. That means that we can take the time to research as much as we need to in order to get the most accurate (though still unofficial) document possible to all of you. Our first attempt may have some mistakes, but they will be corrected as new updates are posted.

With that said, we're not finished yet -- BUT we do have most of them completed. We've discovered a couple of errors and will correct those tomorrow.

Q10 should be E.
Q 71 should be A.

So here they are.

We'll post the rest in the next 24 hours.

As always, remember that these answers represent our opinion. The official answers will come from Customs and Border Protection in a few weeks and will be posted on their site. In other words, we're probably right but these answers do not guarantee whether or not you've passed; it merely is presented as a helpful tool for broker students who are (quite understandably) eager to have any idea of where they stand.

Customs Broker Exam Pass Rate - 20.6%

For all of you who have been patiently (or not so patiently) waiting on the results of the April 2008 Customs Broker Exam, CBP expects to have the answers posted their web site some time this week. CBP will start mailing letters at the end of this week, so you should start camping out by your mailbox next Monday.

The pass rate for this exam was 20.6%, which is higher than the 9.2% on the October exam. We’ll be watching the CBP web site for the answers so we can provide an updated list of correct answers and a list of potential protest questions. For those of you who purchased the Boskage Study Plans that included the detailed exam commentary, we’ll be completing that information and posting it as soon as possible after the official exam results are posted.

Potential Answers for April 2008 Customs Broker Exam

As many people sit on pins and needles waiting to see the answers posted for the most recent Customs Broker’s Exam, our very own Wizard has taken the exam and provided a list of possible answers and related regulations where the answers were found. We never know when CBP will post the answers and the wait feels like forever. The answers for the October 2007 Exam were not posted until November 13.

We invite you to post your answers, explanations, arguments and other comments. Obviously, Boskage Commerce Publications cannot guarantee the accuracy of these answers since CBP has the one and only answer key, but the Wizard has an excellent record of achieving a score of better than 90%.

Click HERE to view a copy of the Wizard’s answers for the April 2008 Exam! Additional commentary on the exam will be available to our students soon.

Note: The Wizard had the most difficulty answering the questions marked by an “asterisk” and highlighted in purple.
