October 2013 Customs Broker Exam - Answers Coming Next Week

We're hard at work on the broker exam for October 2013, and expect to post our preliminary answers by next Friday.

UPDATE -- Due to unexpected circumstances, our preliminary answers will not be posted tonight. However, we do not have many more questions to research before we are complete. We expect answers early next week.

Thank you for your continued patience.

Just an FYI, the October 2013 exam was cancelled at the St. Louis port. The person who was supposed to administer the exam never showed up and after calling the number on the exam notice, the group of people there to take the exam were told it was cancelled and to go home. This has not happened before, and the people who determine how Customs will make up the exam to the people in St. Louis are on shutdown. Noone seems to know what to is going to happen. Ideally, the people would want the opportunity to take the same exam as everyone else. I am curious if this will cause a delay in the results from Customs as they will not want to release official results if there are people out there who may end up taking the same exam. Just an FYI. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Anxious and keep checking daily. Are you still anticipating Friday you will have the answers posted.

Sidenote: does anyone know how long Customs usually takes to post their answers? Is it typically after everyone is notified about their results or before?

It took them 8 weeks to mail out the official letters of results for the April 2013 exam. Fyi, the Boskage preliminary answers are VERY accurate (I think they only missed 2 from April exam...)

Anxiously waiting for answers....:)

Im confident CBP wouldnt allow those test takers to take an exam that has been open for everyone now to review, official answers available or not. I assume they will just have to take it in April and not pay the fee again.

where is it?

Just an update -- we are working on final questions and verifications. We still hope to have answers posted late today, but we will keep you posted via the blog.

We appreciate that there is considerable anticipation for these free preliminary answers. Please remember that the staff who work to provide them have to balance them with other duties and responsibilities.

We thank you once again for your patience and your interest!

To all October test takers---are there any sites/blogs out there to discuss appeals for the October exam? Put our collective heads together and discuss questions and answers, etc? Just wondering---I'm guessing my score is going to be around the 58/80 range....

Can anyone comment on the appeals process? How long does it take to hear back from CBP and how likely am I to even receive any credit for appealed responses?

Just imagine having to wait to receive your results in the mail. We were not allowed to take our exam booklets home with us. It was a horrifying wait.
